Using A Pendulum in Your Reiki Practice
A pendulum is a great tool to use during Reiki practice. A pendulum can be used in so many ways: decide when to see clients, test client chakras, or even feel the energy of the aura. Pendulums are useful for many other parts of one's life.
Dowsing and divination are related skills with similar tools. Dowsing uses the tools to help decide what the body can sense but the mind cannot. For example, use dowsing to come to a decision on a given situation. Dowsing can also be used to aid your subconcious in finding items in the environment such as dowsing for water or gold. Divination uses dowsing tools but instead predict what will be.
Dowsing and Divination are most effective for people who are:
A) Well connected to their body
B) Can let go of the outcome
C) Have strong psychic ability
Reiki can help strengthen all of these things.
Have fun!

How to Use a Pendulum
Acquire a pendulum. You can use a 'real' one, or a weight of sort tied to a string. This can even be a button on the end of a thread.
The Pendulum is an interface between mind and your subconscious, and it will work the way you want it to. Pendulums work by connecting to your subconscious mind. The micromovements not under your control in your arm, hand, and fingers make the pendulum move. Many think that the more Ki you have in your arm, the easier it is for a pendulum to work.
Hold the string of the pendulum, letting the weighted part of it hang down. Hold your arm slightly out from your body. See what the pendulum does when you simply hold it.
Ask the pendulum to show you what a "YES" answer looks like. This is typically clockwise, or a towards you/away from you movement.
Ask the pendulum to show you what a "NO" answer looks like. This is typically counterclockwise, or a side to side movement.
You might also ask the pendulum to show you what a "Maybe" or "Unclear" action looks like. For me this is usually circles or diagonals or stillness.
Using the Pendulum to measure chakras is the same tool, but used in a different way. Hold it over the chakra and ask if the chakra is open. The more it moves, the more open it is.
You can also use the pendulum to measure the size of the aura, see what happens to the degree of movement as you move it closer to or farther from the body.
Adding Reiki to your Pendulum Use
After experimenting with your pendulum, experiment with adding Reiki to its use.
Draw a cube of power symbols, by drawing power symbols on the four walls, ceiling and floor.
Draw a mental emotional symbol in the room to deepen your connection to your subconscious.
Clear your pendulum by drawing a power symbol over it and pulling out any energy that doesn't need to be there.
Charge your pendulum with extra energy.
Say an opening prayer, asking the Reiki energy to make you a clear and open channel for the energy to flow.
Try the same exercises again, and see if adding Reiki made a difference.
