Walter Lubeck
I don't always agree with all of Walter's ideas, but some of the things he has said are the most profound things I have ever heard anyone say about Reiki, and are some of my guiding lights to this day.
One is (paraphrasing) "Looking for soul-mates is a waste of time.. and it can be very disconcerting if you find more than one of them... instead look for soul family. You can always use more soul family, and your soul-mate is likely to be attached to one of them anyway. Sometimes the people you are to help are not the same as your soul family.
Another is that Walter and I agree to not believe in Evil. He tells a story about how he chose to believe that all beings are messengers of God. One night he woke up feeling a dark heavy nasty energy was at the foot of his bed, and he opened his arms and said. "I know that there is only God, and that you are a messenger sent by God, but I am feeling fearful right now, could you step back for a moment so I can get used to your presence. And the dark energy became an Angel, and he embraced it.
Walter was also one of the first people I showed the manuscript for my book about Mt Kurama for and he gave me encouragement to publish it, even giving me the name of his editor at Lotus Light.
