Welcome to Holistic Museum.org (will move this there soon)
Announcing a plan to develop and create a Mind-Body-Spirit Exploratorium, an experiential museum dedicated to introducing the general public to the principles and concepts of energy healing, alternative health, stress reduction, psychic development, positive thinking, power of prayer and more, with facilities for classroom education and advanced research. You can help!
Ideally, the Museum will open in early 2012 (possibly 2011) to take advantage of interest in the coinciding Mayan and other calendars ending in 2012.
The museum is envisioned as having a series of location. The first location is yet to be determined. Sedona AZ, Las Vegas NV, Salem MA, Santa Fe NM, Glastonbury UK are all being considerate because of their interest in metaphysics (vortexes, luck, magic, sacredness) as well as major metropolitan areas, such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, New Orleans, and London. There will also be smaller touring shows that can be set up at large spiritual conferences, smaller cities, and as an exhibit in conventional museums.
Over the next few months, I will be working on the details of this museum, defining the exhibits, creating a business plan, looking for donations and grants and sponsors, creating this website, forming a non-profit organization.
Each museum will have permanent exhibits, regional exhibits (such as a vortex exhibit in Sedona), and space for traveling Special Exhibits (such as sacred objects from different cultures)

First Holistic Museum in the World?
To my knowledge, no one has attempted to create a museum dedicated to holistic sciences.
There are a few museums dedicated to specific traditions and modalities, there was a World of Massage Museum in Spokane. There is the Rosicrucian Museum in San Jose, the Chinese Traditional Medicine Museum in Hangzhou China, and perhaps one or two others. (If you know of others, please email me).
These museums focus on exhibition of historical artifacts and culture. Our museum will be much more interactive, and allow the visitor to experience receiving and doing many of these activities.
An Exploratorium
The museum will be a science exploratorium that provide visitors with a hands on overview of modern research and understanding of the mind/body/spirit connection. It will include just enough history and culture to put these experiences in perspective.
Most people today learn about "New Age", "Alternative Medicine" and related subjects in a very piecemeal fashion. Most of it is learned from books or classes. As a community, we need to have a place where people can come, experience and ask questions. We also need a place where we can bring together scientific technologies and ancient traditions. We need to find a place where we can showcase our best ideas.
Why A Museum?
I first conceived of this museum about 10 years ago. I was visiting Sedona, and I was in the chamber of commerce, listening to the steady stream of people asking questions like what a vortex was and where to find one, questions about medicine wheels and so on. The chamber clearly would benefit from having a place to send all of these people too, where these kinds of questions could be answered.
I have also spent a lot of time in new age shops. The sales people are also constantly asked questions simple, profound and often time consuming about metaphysical topics. These shop owners would also clearly benefit from having a place to send people too where they could get ask questions, experience things for themselves, and get a basic education so when they do go shopping they know what they are looking for.
People who are new to metaphysical exploration are often shy and both drawn to and afraid of the unknown. Going to a Healing Center or even just making an appointment with a alternative healing therapist or a psychic can be hugely intimidating when the person does not know what to expect. Museums are by their very nature public, non-threatening, and devoted to education.

As one of the world's foremost Reiki master teachers, many people tell me stories of their own previous psychic, healing, paranormal or ghost experiences, even visions of God. I am often about the only human being they have ever told these experiences too. Most of these people had not seriously believed in these kinds of experiences until they happened. They need a place to go where they can validate, explore and understand these experiences.
There are an increasing number of electronic tools for studying mind-body-spirit connections. These tools measure skin conductivity & resistance, brain wave activity, heart rate variations, temperature, biomagnetic fields, predict auric fields and much more. Many of these tools cost hundreds or thousands of dollars, too expensive for individual practitioners, but well within a budget of a museum. Practices would be able to sign up to use these tools, with the assistance of someone trained in their use, during special practitioner hours at the museum for a reasonable cost. Practitioners could also experiment with tools, and if they find them valuable could purchase them from the museum.
What Should Be in The Museum?
Before any kind of business plan can be attempted, we need to define the scope of the museum, by determining its major exhibits. This list of exhibits determine the size of the museum, its scope, and its cost to create. While this list will continue to evolve, creating it first helps to define the museum in the most concrete way possible.

Donate to Make it Happen
As you can see from the above list of exhibits, this is a grand and exciting project that will take a lot of time and energy to fulfil. If you believe in this dream, please consider donating. After we complete the business plan and necessary paperwork later this year, we will incorporate as a 401c, but for now donations are NOT tax deductible. If for some reason the museum does not occur, your donation will be used for a scholarship fund, and to purchase research equipment.
As people willing to donate during the "Dreamer 1" phase of this project, you have my special thanks. Donations now are especially valuable to allow us to research and develop this concept. With your help, the Mind-Body-Spirit Exploratorium can be an incredible place, but we need to do it together.
In coming months we will be looking for volunteers to assist with fundraising, grant writing, building, and outreach opportunities. To find out more, sign up for the ReikiMastery.com newsletter. To signup, go to www.ReikiMastery.com (this will be a separate newsletter soon, but for now, just use this)
