Part of my dream for this site included hard-to-find background material on Reiki. At the time I began this research, I knew nothing of Japanese language, and had no intention of traveling to Japan. My historical research on the origins of Reiki began as a way I could contribute to the understanding of Reiki.

Since these humble beginings, I have been to Japan, met with a number of Reiki people, and had plans to study with non-Takata Reiki lineages by fall of 2001. I also had plans to spend time meditating on Mt. Kurama. Over the course of my trips, I hoped to get my number of days spent on Kurama up to 21. Of course, many of my plans have come true, and I have spent many days on Mt. Kurama since then.
