Reiki Brainstorming

This is a brainstorming document for both people who believe in my work and are willing to help promote and package what I do, and starting Reiki Outreach, an organization dedicated to Reiki Education,Research and Community outreach.

The First meeting will be Sunday July 15th at 3pm at Inner Harmony

I am looking for people with great ideas, and people with some spare time to help make them happen.

I have created an initial document here, if you have other ideas to add.. or you would like to add your name to the list of helpers (i will not post full names on this page), please email me. I will integrate as much as i can into the document, (Be patient if takes me some time to update this). And then we can use it as an agenda to brainstorm further.

Book and Class promotion

Healing Nights

Healing nights are my best advertising for classes cause people get a chance to meet me, experience Reiki and get excited about taking a class. Also great to keep people interested and practicing Reiki

• Monthly notices created and sent to people to post about healing nights
• Locating larger and multiple healing night locations in LA area

  Book Promotion

  Some of this must wait til book is in distribution channels for bookstores which should happen soon.

• Get reveiws written for Amazon.com
• Organize/promote book signings
• Enourage bookstores to carry book (letter?)
• Spread word of book online
• Help organizing and mailing out order
• Myspace and other pages

Maintenance

• Check/fix for broken links - proofread & update
• Moving content from newsletters to website links

• Suggest ideas for new and improved content

Reiki Outreach

Mission statement:

This nonprofit organization purpose is to encourage Reiki Education, Research and Community Outreach.Community Outreach and Member Support.

(Some of this will overlap with Jess's businesss. we need to clarify)

Education

• Develop professional grade workbook materials for both basic Reiki classes and advanced work (this may be done through Jessica's business)
• Develop online continuing education for existing Reiki People to enhance there skills (this may be done through Jessica's business)
• Develop classes & materials to introduce it to area hospitals, hospices and assisted living facilities, and adult education centers

Outreach:

• Allow Reiki Masters to run local Reiki shares in non-profit locations, such as churches and community centers
• Budget and supply Reiki Practitioners and teachers for Reiki Outreach events at local conventions, community festivals and events
• TV Shows/ Newspaper Articles

Research

• Seek Grant money for some basic research on Reiki

Member Support:

• Include links to the websites of all member Reiki Masters, as well as reiki.org
• Membership requires 100 hour yearly time commitment minimum. 

AGENDA

Housing for Healers

Many very talented alternative healers have a very hard time affording housing. These people have often forsaken well paying careers to devote their lives to healing others. I am looking for those willing to pledge houses, apartments, and spare rooms in their houses to provide below market rents.

You would gain renters you could feel good about, and whose presence would add to the positive energy of your area.

Healers accepted into the program would also be given business support for developing their business. Rent would be a base rent, plus percentage of income. Healers participating would also be expected to donate a certain amount of their time to do free or low cost healings as well.

The difference betweeen the market rent and the rent charged to the healer could be used as a tax writeoff.
