I am continuing to do more classes in Northern California every few months. I will also be doing Central California (San Luis Obispo area) a few times per year.

Want to go beyond the basics of what fits into a Reiki class and really explore what Reiki can do? Healing Ghosts & Spirits

For Halloween, I am doing an online class for healing Ghosts and Spirits.The cost is $99, it will be 5-6 weeks. I have been doing healing work on ghosts and spirits for over 10 years, and have developed a technique that is both very positive and very effective. All souls have the right to enlightenment. We treat the ghost or spirit as worthy of healing. Then we use the Reiki to call in beings that can help it move on to its next level. Class includes a number of techniques to strenghten and protect your energy field which is not only important for this work, but will also strengthen you and bring understanding in other areas of Reiki and the rest of your life. Class will include 'live' examples so you can see experience what ghost energies are like and how to heal them. Tuition is $99

It is recommended that you have taken (or at least started) the Extraordinary Healing Class, and or had 2 years experiences sending distance Reiki before taking this class.

Pet Reiki

A Pet Healing Night

"Would you do a Reiki night for Pets." I was at the Raymond Avenue Animal Hospital in Pasadena talking to the vetinarian, Dr K. "Of course" I said. In my mind all i could see was images of flying fur. The thought of a bunch of dogs, cats and other animals all in the same waiting room while I tried to talk about how wonderful and calming Reiki was was a bit daunting

As usual, I needn't have worried! I arrived there early and did some energetic cleanup, and started talking to and doing a little reiki on the early arrivals, both pets and their people. The pets were all dogs, all sizes and ages. It was amazing how calm they all were as a explained Reiki, and why it was good for animals. I also empowered everybody's hands with temporary Reiki (power symbol) so they could feel the energy of their pet, and give them a little treatment.

How is Healing Pets different than working on People?

How is healing Pets different than people? The short answer is that it isn't different at all. Working on pets is a combination of putting positive energy in, and sweeping negative energy out, just like on people. Animals that are young, happy and healthy often don't notice Reiki, or just wish to be petted or played with. Animals that are older, have health difficulties or emotional challenges respond the most to the Reiki energy.

There are some minor differences in working with animals. Pets are typically much smaller than people, so they don't tend to need as much energy, a few minutes is usually enough. Pets also tend to approach you when they want Reiki, and get up and walk away when they have had enough.

Lifting energy is very important when working on arthritic or other pain issues. On animals as well as on people, doing Reiki directly on these areas can lead to an uncomfortable level of heat or prickling. Since you can't quite explain to your pet "sit still, this is good for you", animals will shift around if they are uncomfortable. Sometimes they will simply get up and walk away. If you feel a hot spot on your pet's body, or you know that your pet has pain in an area, use your hands to lift the energy from that area. To do this, place the back of your hand against the painful area, curl your fingers slightly holding some tension in them, and very slowly lift the dense pain energy away from the body, and throw it away.

Distance Reiki can also be very helpful, especiallly with animals that have a tendency to get up and walk away, or are not always comfortable being touched. Ideally be in the same room as the pet so you can see how they react You can do Reiki on Fish as well.. but i do this by placing my hand on the outside of the tank. Some fish will swim over right away, but others will take some time to figure out what you are doing. Be patient..

Some Pet Reiki Stories

One of the dogs at the pet healing night had had itchy skin ever since he had a skin infection, even though the infection was cured. I showed the owner that the energy a few inches over the skin in those areas still felt hot and prickly, and this dense prickly energy could be lifted off the body. She was amazied. She was even more amazed a few minutes later. She marveled that the dog seemed more relaxed and comfortable than he had in a long, long time.

Two of the dogs present 'worked' at the local hospital, giving sick people someone to love, and cuddle and marvel at. In talking to the owners and Dr oK, I was surprised to learn that this kind of work does take a toll on the dogs. After going to the hospital, and for the next day or so after the dogs are exhausted and sleep alot. Animals are natural givers of ki, people who are in hospitals typically need Ki desperately, as they are trying to heal and recover. These dogs loved the Reiki, and were quite willing to soak it up for as long as I was willing to leave my hands there.

The best part of the healing night was when I put the energy of the power symbols into the hands of the owners, and got to watch them working on their own pets.Pets and humans share such a strong bond, it is marvelous to see the joy and comfort it gives both the pets and the humans to share Reiki.
