There are many ways you can use Reiki for the Holidays, from the personal to the global. The holidays are both secular and spiritual events. It is not just about people, food, and stuff, the essence of the winter holidays is about connecting more deeply to the world of spirit. The Reiki bath is a great way to get you in a more holiday mood. The candles can be used at dinner or for your bath. And the soup is a way of sharing positive energy and good food with everyone.

Northern California Schedule

I am continuing to do more classes in Northern California every few months. .I will be teaching Reiki Mastery in November, and Reiki 1&2 in early December

The next Reiki 1&2 in Northern California will be in Millbrae CA this weekend Dec 6-7

The next Reiki Master class will be late spring or summer. The next Karuna class will be next fall.

Southern California Schedule

PASADENA (Sierra Madre)

There is a Reiki 1&2 class Dec 13-14 in Sierra Madre, CA

There is a Reiki Master class Feb 14-16. This is a 3 day holiday weekend, class is offered Sat/Sun/Mon, and is ideal for those who have trouble getting time off.

The next Japanese Reiki Techniques and Karuna classes will be mid 2009.

SANTA MONICA

The next healing night in Santa Monica will be Friday, with a Reiki 1&2 class Feb 28-March 1.

Healing Ghosts & Spirits

For Halloween, I am doing an online class for healing Ghosts and Spirits.The cost is $99, it will be 5-6 weeks. I have been doing healing work on ghosts and spirits for over 10 years, and have developed a technique that is both very positive and very effective. All souls have the right to enlightenment. We treat the ghost or spirit as worthy of healing. Then we use the Reiki to call in beings that can help it move on to its next level. Class includes a number of techniques to strenghten and protect your energy field which is not only important for this work, but will also strengthen you and bring understanding in other areas of Reiki and the rest of your life. Class will include 'live' examples so you can see experience what ghost energies are like and how to heal them. Tuition is $99

It is recommended that you have taken (or at least started) the Extraordinary Healing Class, and or had 2 years experiences sending distance Reiki before taking this class.

Jessica Miller's Picture is in a Art Show

There is a small art studio near where I live in South Pasadena. I joined!, and I am now an official "Artiste". They are having a group show on Saturday Dec 6th at 7pm, and I put my favorite Kurama picture in the show. Then I realized I willl be teaching in San Francisco, so will not be there, but Jeff is planning to go. I would love some of you to attend the show and get a sense of this space. I want to possibly do a "Women of Spirit" show here next year for myself and other Reiki artists. I am also interested in doing some Reiki Art projects here in the future. Attending the show is free. The cost to join the studio as an artist is $75 a year.

The Reiki bath is a great way to get you in a more holiday mood. The candles can be used at dinner or for your bath. And the soup is a way of sharing positive energy and good food with everyone.

Reiki Candles:

Buy some of the lovely candles that are around this time of year. You may choose white for purity, or green for life, or red for joy. Scented candles can also add a special quality of home, health and holiday. While even unlit candles can add grace to a space, it is burning candles release a powerful energy into a space, transforming and empowering it. These candles can be burned at holiday dinners, after a long day, for a romantic supper, or even for a Reiki Holiday bath

To imbue the candles with Reiki power, Take each candle, and either just hold them in your hands, or draw Reiki symbols over it and pray. You can use any of the following or create your own. You can also just raise a hand up, and ask the universe to send into it the perfect energy for your bath this night, and lowering your hand, smooth this energy into the candle.

• "May the light of this candle bless all the light touches"
• "May the light of this candle connect me more deeply to God and Spirit"
• "May the light of God bless this candle and all who see its light"
• "May all who see this light feel harmony and joy"

Reiki Holiday Bath:

When drawing a bath for the holidays, (or any other time), add something extra by putting Reiki in the water. Bathing by candlelight can also be an amazing addition.

Draw a favorite Reiki symbol, or just use your hands to send positive energy into the bath tub.Use as many of the following affirmations, and follow each with a reiki symbol, or just beam energy into the water. You can also just raise a hand up, and ask the universe to send into it the perfect energy for your bath this night, and lowering your hand, smooth this energy into the candle. Some people will also charge quartz crystals with Reiki energy and put them in the bath tub as well.

• I fill this tub with light, with light, with light
• I fill this tub with joy, with harmoy, with peace
• May the water in this tub draw out all the negativivity within me
• May the water in this tub purify me, and cleanse my soul.
• I fill this tub with the spirit of Christmas.

Reiki Soup:

When we get together with people, it is our instinct to feed them. Feeding people is a way we share energy, and share our love and support. It is also a very powerful way to spread the blessing of the holidays, by including it in every bite we share.

This time of year I try to occasionally take the time to cook things that take time to cook. Things that take time are also excellent for imbueing with positive Reiki energy. While you can make Reiki Mashed Potatoes, and Reiki Cookies, I am going to talk about Reiki Split Pea Soup.

If you are a Reiki Master, you may want to attune your cooking utensils, but anyone Reiki 2 or above can just draw power symbols and mental emotional symbols into soup every time you stir. You can also stir positive words such as Joy, Support, Love, Beauty, Serenity and Fun, into your soup.

This is a recipe I got from the Trader Joes Split Peas. Trader Joes which doesnt sell split peas anymore, but I kept the recipe, and now share it with you. It is one of the tastiest recipes i have found. At my folks house we would make split pea soup for the holidays, often for New Years eve, and now I can share that tradition with you.

Split Pea Soup with Bacon and Rosemary

• 6 bacon slices, chopped 2" long
• 1 1/2 large onions chopped
• 1 large carrot, peeled & chopped
• 2 garlic cloves, minced
• 2 - 32 oz boxes of Organic Chicken Broth
• 1 package green split peas, rinsed and drained.
• 1/2 teaspoon Rosemary (Fresh is best)
• Salt and Pepper to taste
• SOUR CREAM (not in the recipe.. but i use as garnish)

Saute bacon in heavy large pot over medium-high heat until crisp and brown. DO NOT discard grease. Add onions, carrot and garlic. Saute until vegetables begin sto soften, about 6 minutes. Add broth, peas, and rosemary. Bring soup to boil. Reduce to medium-low heat. Simmer until peas start to break down, about 2 hours, stirring occasionally. When soup has reached desired consistency, season to taste with salt and pepper. To serve: Put a dollop of sour cream in the bottom of each bowl , then pour the soup on top.
