Jess & Jeff Personal News
Jeff and I are moving to Hope St. Literally. By mid-January,
we are moving to South Pasadena, to an adorable studio apartment
round
the
corner
from the shops of the Mission District and the Goldline Subway.
Our new address willl be 1031 Hope St, South Pasadena, CA 91030.
A little odd history. Three years ago when I was leaving the
castle, Pavitra (who owns Inner Harmony where I teach near Pasadena)
said "I just put a downstairs apartment into my house" Six months
later I met and moved in with Jeff, who I married in July. A
few days before Thanksgiving this year I talked to Pavitra, and
told her we were looking for a place. She said. "I just listed
a studio apartment on craigslist if you want to see it"
Holiday Give-Away Party Dec 29-30
Friday December 29 7pm-11 and Saturday 1pm-5pm we will be
having a Holiday Give Away Party.
Jeff
and I
are moving from a large house to a studio (and a couple of storage
units)
We have many wonderful things that won't quite fit into
our new place, but are too precious to simply send to good
will. Candles, crystals, pictures, metaphysical and other books
We would like to gift you our freinds and students with the treaures
we are leaving behind.
Crystal Lotus Healing Grid and Crystal Ball Amplifiers.
I don't have the online store set up yet, but I have worked
it out so you can order
by email. I do have limited quantities..
so substitution may be necessary for some items.
Baby Adyita Update
On Thanksgiving I sent out a call for Reiki for the Aditya,
born October 24th. All the tests during pregnancy looked normal,
but seeing the baby, the doctors told the parents he had the
genetic disorder Down's Syndrome.. The parents were devastated,
and wondered if
reiki could help.
Hello Jessica,
Aditya is doing fine. He had his first appointment at Stanford
childrens hospital today. We had Nutrition therapist, Speech
therapist, Physical therapist, all
were giving positive feedback for aditya which was good to hear as a parent. We
will have yearly appointment with them. Plus in between we have to do his
thyroid test, eye test, hearing test. For all this we should
thank u and all others
who are sending reiki for him.
Meanwhile i wanted to correct Aditya's spelling
in many of the emails his name is spelled as Ayita so if you can send correct
name of him that would be good. I am specifically saying this as i don't
know whether the name is important while doing reiki.
Doctors
also asked us to work
more on his muscle tone.
Thank you and i will keep informing u about Aditya's progress. A Big
hug from Aditya.
Thanks
Sangeeta

Reiki on Orchids - by Jessica N.
I work in a very stressful office environment with the quintessential
fluorescent lighting and high-strung temperament. Not exactly
a conducive environment for plants - especially sensitive plants
like orchids. Back in April, two of my teammates and myself were
given orchids for our desks as gifts. I made sure to take care
of mine with the usual watering and pruning as they did too.
However, after two months, my orchid seemed to be struggling,
as did my teammates orchids. I decided to start Reiki treatments
on my orchid. As a result, my orchid began to thrive. My teammates,
unfortunately, lost their orchids - they both died. I've found
that as long as I give "Stanley" (that's the name I've
given my orchid) a little boost at least once every two weeks
that he's fine. In fact, about 6 weeks ago he started growing
a new leaf and it keeps growing bigger and more lush. :) The
orchid is growing so much that I need to transplant it soon into
another pot! :)
The Art and Joy of Lovingkindness
by Atmo Khryse
Atmo told me about this in one of my recent classes, and I felt
like it really summarized a profound truth, so I asked her to
write it up for this newsletter. Enjoy..
Rabbi Simcha Bunim Bonhart
of Peshischa (1765-1827) was one of the main leaders of Hasidic
Judaism in Poland. Hassidism is a Jewish movement that believes
in a joyful way of living as expression of true spirituality.
The word Hasidic comes from the Hebrew root word ___ chesed meaning "lovingkindness".
Hasidic Jews are taught to have two pockets in their coat, with
two slips of paper, one in each pocket:
One slip says: "I am only dust & ashes."
The other reads: "For me, the whole universe was created."
One of my Rabbis suggested me a while ago to do this practice.
So I kept the two slips of paper in my pockets as a reminder
through the weeks. The essential
thing to remember is that our human nature is complex. That in that complexity
there is hope to integrate our two opposite soul inclinations (good and evil)
and elevate our state of human beings in the light of our divine purpose on this
earth. If not this, what then it is our obligation to our souls? After all, loving-kindness
has its beginning manifestation in our personal work towards humility, and self-acceptance.
I do recommend this exercise to all Reiki practitioners, as we serve as a mirror
to our brothers, and sisters in the path of spiritual growth each time we connect
with them. Nobody is perfect, however, there is perfection within us in the likeness
of God. There is not teacher that knows yet everything, as there is not student
that knowing or without knowing is not already teaching so much to those that
surround him/her. Is in the art of acknowledging our weaknesses, with respect
rather than using denial that we can contribute in an interdependent fashion
to the repair of this world. By healing, we help to heal ourselves and others.
And, that’s a joy!
Thank you to my Reiki Master Teacher Jessica Miller, who with loving-kindness
embraced this short story from me, in her peaceful thoughts to share it with
others.
Shalom,
Love, Life and Light to all!
