VIDEO NEWS

The videos Mo Aburshied did of me doing a Reiki session have been viewed over 7000 times (adding up hits for the 3 videos).

Mo also put the videos up on Current TV, along with some of his other video work. If you would be willing to register on the site, view these and "Greenlight" them, it increases the standing of the video, and the chances that some version of them may eventually be shown on TV. Current TV is an interesting site for getting ideas out there, its worth taking a look at their other stuff too.

COMING SOON

At the end of April is the Reiki Explorer Retreat So many of you have asked about my teaching sound healing, the more complex forms of distance healing and many of the other things I am doing I am surprised to not get more signups. I will be sending out a separate annoucnement soon. I need at least 10 people to hold the retreat, not including volunteers.

I am working with a new travel agent to create the next Kurama trip to Japan. Stay tuned.

Great Ideas

I wrote this up for one of my Reiki friends and students, and wanted to include it here as a nifty example of how to use Reiki in unusual ways.

Reiki & Hair – Azin’s Hair Salon, Brentwood, CA
“ The energy flows through my hands when I cut hair, and people leave with better energy, they feel as well as look good”, says Azin Ziai, the owner of the elegant “Azin’s Hair Salon” in Brentwood (Los Angeles), California.
Azin has been a Reiki practitioner since 1998, when she first trained with Jessica Miller.

Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that activates the ability of the palm charkas to send out high energy Ki, which is great for relaxing the body and supporting the body’s ability to heal itself. Because Reiki does not require the practitioner to concentrate or do any special techniques, Azin finds it ideal for enhancing her clients hair cutting experience.

“ So many of my clients lead such busy lives, getting their hair cut becomes a meditative experience, or even just time to reflect on their lives. The Reiki helps them become calm and relaxed. The crown chakra is the highest energy center of the body, so good energy there is very important. While I am giving them an excellent hair cut, the Reiki energizes the hair and the body, leaving them feeling and looking terrific.”

The rich colors and art in this beautifully designed salon also adds to this experience. Reiki is also used to periodically clear and charge the space with calm and positive energy, so that many people remark on how wonderful they feel in this space.

Azin’s is upstairs in the San Vicente Plaza on the corner of San Vicente and Gorham at 11740 San Vicente Blvd. The plaza also has a yoga studio, massage studio, several great restaurants, and a Whole Foods across the street.

Distance Healing Prayer Lists

I get so many requests for me to send distance healing, I wrote up an email list of sites. If you have others please let me know.

When life becomes difficult for yourself and others I highly recommend getting as many people as possible to send Reiki as soon as possible to the situation. This is in addition to having any Reiki people (including yourself) do in person treatments.

This is very helpful after car accidents, serious medical diagnoses, and procedures.

If you feel called, many of these sites also welcome other Reiki practitioners to send to the people on their list.

First write up a short description of the situation.. 1-3 sentences is fine. For privacy reasons, it is generally okay to just use a partial name, but check on the site. Then you can copy and only slightly modify it for each of these sites.

I run a twice a month Reiki Healing Night, and looking to start other less frequent healing nights in other areas nearby. Cost is $5-$20 optional donation.

There may be other Reiki healing nights in your area. Often they will be listed on local metaphysical bookstore or healthfood store bulletin boards, or you may find some by doing a web search.

Your local hospital may also have a program. (If they do, they should be listed on ReikiinHospitals.org - make sure they know about the sites) There are not that many programs in hospitals yet here in Southern California, but I suspect that more are being considered, and personal requests do make a difference. I would be very happy to tell my students about the program if they were looking for volunteers.
