What an In-person Reiki Session is Like
Scheduling Your Reiki Session
Contact me via phone or email to set up a session. I typically do sessions on Mondays and Fridays. You can either receive the Reiki session in La Crescenta or at your home. (Cost information is on the Register for Classes and Sessions page, Phone number/email on the contact page.)
Before your Session
There will be a consultation about your goals, experience with energy work, etc. I often watch how people talk about the issues in their lives as a way of locating energy blocks. I will then typically do a healing attunement. This is a perfect time to ask questions.
During the Session
I will next escort you into the treatment room where there will be a massage table, soothing music. You will only be asked to remove your shoes. You will remain fully clothed during the session. If I do the session at your house, I will bring the table unless you have one of your own and am happy to use your stereo system.
Typically you will first lie on your back. You may feel a slight touch as my hands gently lay on or over parts of your body. Certain issues may call for me to also use my breath or clap my hands. During a session some clients may feel heat, some might feel tingling, some might not feel anything at all. Almost all, however, feel a deep sense of relaxation that permeates their whole being. If at any point you feel uncomfortable please speak out, and I can adjust to make you feel more at ease.
After the Session
You will be asked to take a few minutes to re-awaken to your surroundings. I will provide you with water to help you flush out your system. Continue to drink water throughout the rest of the day.
After a few minutes you will be brought back into the office for a post-session consult to discuss how you are feeling and to discuss next steps if applicable.
Length
A typical Reiki session lasts anywhere from 75 min. - 90 min. depending on the nature and depth of the issue.
