How Does Reiki Work?

Having a variety of explanations makes it easy to understand how Reiki works, and better yet, how to explain Reiki to others.
Refill and Release (Variation on Reiki: The Healing Touch)
Reiki works by refilling areas where the life force energy is low and removing energy blocks to energy flow. Energy blocks and low areas are created by illness, emotion, physical trauma, thought forms, and stress.
Medical Awakening the Capillary Muscles - From the Shen Technique
Energy healing can work on all different parts of the body, from organs, nerves, and brain cells. Energy healing works by waking up the muscles that control the capillaries that have frozen due to stress, thus restoring health by restoring appropriate oxygen and nutrients into the cells.
Emotional Theory of Illness
Illness is a great teacher of how to deal with limitation, how to receive help from others. Many are also not happy with their lives. Wrestling with illness helps them re-evaluate what is important in life, whether they want to live, and the importance of spiritual vs. worldly things. Reiki helps release the emotions that are stored in the body and gives the energy to move forward in other areas of life.
Easing body into its Divine Blueprint
Your body has a divine blueprint inside of what it would be if completely healthy and happy. Reiki reminds and eases your body into that blueprint.
Straw / Pipe-Line
The practitioner hand is like a pipeline. It hovers on or over the client and says, “Need more here”. The client’s body determines what happens.
Space Holder to Show Compassion – Energy does the Work
Reiki really happens at the divine level. All the practitioner does is spend time allowing the divine power to come in and work. The practitioner also acts as an assistant, helping guide the energy, but this role is minor.
Radiate Health and Love
The major job the hands do is radiate health and love. The client’s body entrains to the message like a tuning fork, and relaxes to heal.
Reiki Angels / Dimensions
The energy field created by Reiki submerges the client into a dimension of healing where the angels can work on them. Angels also guide the practitioner.
Reiki as “The Force”
Reiki is energy created by life. It guides our actions and follows our commands. It is an energy created by life itself and occurs in all living things, binding the earth together.
